  • Millets:

There are two important millets are Jawar and Bajra. Millets are cultivated in dry and sandy areas. The per hector yield of Millet is getting low due to the low rate of consumption. The major use of millets is on poultry farms.

  • Gram and Pulses:

Gram and Pulses are also important food crops of Pakistan. The average yield of Gram and Pulses and Pulses is 700kh per hector. The government of Pakistan is trying to improve the production of gram and pulses.

  • Cotton

Cotton is called the silver fiber. It is leading cash crop of Pakistan. It is grown in the areas having moderate rainfall and high temperature. Cotton yield 770 kg per hectare. The government of Pakistan develop new varieties f and modified the seeds of cotton in order to enhance the production of cotton and export at a large level to different courtiers.

  • Rice

Rice is the second cash crop of Pakistan with respect to export. The fine quality of Rice is exported to many countries like Malaysia, China, and other European Countries. Pakistan is earning a good foreign exchange of rice.

  • Oil Seeds and Vegetable Oils

There are abundant of seeds and oils are exported to most of the countries of the world such as soybean, sunflower, mustard and cotton seeds etc. these seeds play a vital role in the economic development as they earn huge foreign exchange in our country.

  • Tobacco

The soil of Pakistan is very fertile for the cultivation of tobacco. It is also the major cash crop of Pakistan. The fine quality of tobacco is cultivated in NWFP, KPK and Sindh and Punjab. The best quality of tobacco is Virginia tobacco cultivated in the land of Sindh. It is considered the world famous quality of Tobacco which is exported at a large level to most of the countries of the world.

The major difference between the food crops and cash crops of Pakistan is that food crops are those crops which are cultivated for use of consumers not for sale as a commercial or foreign exchange but the cash crops of Pakistan are those crops which are export to most of the countries and earn foreign exchange in Pakistan. The govt of Pakistan doing nothing for farmer in pakistan .I am a farmar cif punjb Pakistan and i feel so sade .too watch all that what’s going on with over farm land .And with over young farming boyes are living from farm .becose they have land and becoming more poors .becose of that bad govt of pak.And of Punjab and I have proof of that witch kind of corruption going on from down too up and all over.And even they don’t pay for flood money untill now and we have check in hand .And in that year you can check out what Punjab govt did with price of sugercan from real price180 rup for woo kg too become 144 rup and how much we got kiss no one have idea .And same in animal’s price ..And the price of raw rice ..And milk

    • Even we have no good price of over raw rice in world over rice in all over the world people are selling in under name of India ..And they are making money from over real basmati. And all world think that is best rice from India .that is all bad going on under the watch of pak govt
