ISSB Test Schedule 2026 Test Dates

The Inter‑Services Selection Board (ISSB) is the central selection authority in Pakistan for commissioning officers into the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, and Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Each year, ISSB conducts rigorous selection tests that assess candidates’ psychological suitability, leadership potential, personality, and physical fitness before they are recommended for training in their respective academies.

2026 ISSB Test Schedule Overview

For 2026, the ISSB test schedule has been structured in batches across different services and courses. These dates are tentative and can vary slightly once official ISSB call letters are issued to candidates.

How ISSB Dates Are Assigned

Unlike fixed exam dates for written tests, ISSB dates are assigned individually for each candidate once they pass the initial screening tests (which include written, physical, and preliminary interviews). Once a candidate’s name is shortlisted, ISSB issues a call letter mentioning:

  • Selected ISSB center (e.g., Kohat, Gujranwala, Malir Cantt, Quetta)

  • Exact reporting date and time

  • Documents required

  • Specific test dates

Candidates can check their call status online by entering their CNIC number on the official ISSB portal or the ISSB call status tool.

Where Are ISSB Tests Held?

ISSB conducts tests at several centers across Pakistan, including:

  • ISSB Kohat (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

  • ISSB Gujranwala (Punjab)

  • ISSB Malir Cantt (Karachi)

  • ISSB Quetta (Balochistan)

The city where you are called depends on your service/course and availability of testing slots.

Duration & Structure of the Test

Once at ISSB, the selection process typically lasts 4 days (occasionally 5 days depending on screening out and final reviews). The assessment includes a mix of psychological, group, and physical tasks:

  1. Arrival & Reception Day: Documentation, introductory tasks.

  2. Day 1 – Screening & Psychological Tests:

    • Intelligence

    • Personality

    • Word Association Test (WAT)

    • Sentence Completion Test (SCT)

    • Picture Story Writing

  3. Day 2 – Group Tasks (GTO):

    • Group discussions

    • Planning and leadership tasks

    • Progressive group tasks

  4. Day 3 – Command & Individual Tasks:

    • Obstacles

    • Command tasks

    • Individual interviews

  5. Day 4 – Final Conference & Departure: Consolidation of results and recommendations.

Candidates are assessed by a panel including psychologists, Group Testing Officers (GTOs), and senior officers. Only those recommended by the board move to final medical examinations and then into training academies or courses.

Important Pointers for 2026 Candidates

Registration & Call Letters

  • Registration for most courses opens months before the scheduled ISSB tests.

  • Call letters are usually issued several weeks before the test date.

  • Track call status online using your CNIC.

Documents to Bring

Typical essential documents include:

  • Original CNIC (or Form‑B for under‑age candidates)

  • Educational certificates and mark sheets

  • Domicile certificate

  • Photographs

  • Call letter and any fee challans

Failure to present originals can lead to disqualification.

Duration Between Initial Tests and ISSB

After passing initial assessments, candidates might wait anywhere from 1–3+ months to receive an ISSB call letter, depending on service demand and batch scheduling.
